Nissan Repair: o2 sensor

Hope you dont mind but there is no one on the site for Honda.  My ? is if the rear o2 sensor is not working is there any benefit to gas mileage provided by the upstream sensor?  Thanks

No problem. I repair a LOT of Hondas too.

I answered your questions backwards, I am sorry.

There is no change in fuel economy if your O2 sensors are not working. Their function is to monitor the emissions before and after the CAT. If there is minimum to no change, that means the CAT is not removing emissions and causes the engine light to go on.

Other sensors such as the IAC sensor which tells the computer idle speed, things like that could affect your gas mileage.
