Nissan Repair: 93 300zx issues

Question
The first issue I am having is that my car will not start when it is cold out side (below 40) all of the lights will come on and i can hear the the starter solenoid clicking but nothing from the starter itself. Not sure whats going on. Also the other problem is that when the started does work it takes roughly 15-20 seconds of cranking before the car starts. There are no check engine or warning lights on the dash. I am at a loss. Please help.

Assuming that the battery is OK, I would check the connections (terminals) to the battery. Ensure they are all tight and clean. If that is OK, then I would say the starter is defective. try this test the next time you hear the clicking, hit the starter firmly with a hammer or metal rod a few times. If it starts after that, then it is the starter. The impact loosens built up carbon on the brushes.
