Nissan Repair: brakes

Question
QUESTION: 1990 R31 Nissan skyline station wagon rb30 3.0 change all pads and bleed them changed brake master cylinder. Still very soft and have too pump it alot to even stop slowly. How or what do I need to do to fix it so I have normal stopping power??

ANSWER: Hi Geoffrey -

This could be a progressive answer so please bear with me. There could be a lot of things that are causing this, but we must do one test at a time.

When you are bleeding the brakes, is there air in the system? Is there a lot of pressure when you release? And is the pressure even on all 4 wheels?

Also, ensure that all the pads are seated properly in the caliper

QUESTION: There is pressure now but as the day heat up pressure drops I have pump couple time to sure I got brakes

Answer
Hi Geoffrey -

It is very important that there is no air in the system. The master cylinder should have been bench bled before installation, and the process of bleeding the brakes should have gone like this:

Master cylinder (all ports)mounted in car
left front wheel
right front wheel
left rear wheel
right rear wheel

Can you verify this -
