Nissan Repair: 93 nissan pickup key release button is stuck, laymen terms, nissan pickup

I was wondering if you knew a way to fix a key release button. It is stuck down so the key slides in and out easily but will not turn, so the truck wont start. I appreciate any help with this as I dont really much about cars, so laymen terms would be fantastic! :-D

Hi Amanda -

First of all, try moving the steering wheel side to side while trying to turn the key. Sometimes the inside lock mechanism gets wedged so the key will not turn. You will have to do this quite firmly.

Also try shooting some WD40 into the lock.

If the above does not work, then the ignition lock assembly will either have to be replaced or dismantled to locate the problem.
