Nissan Repair: 2006 Nissan Altima engine temp gauge drops out, 2006 nissan altima, nissan altima

Recently started have an issue with the engine temp gauge in the car dropping out to cold and the RPMs jumping up at the same time. (doesn't happen all the time) Not sure if the radiator fan is kicking on. I have looked when the care does this an the fan was not on at the time. Not sure if it is related or not. The car never gets hot or over heats. Runs great short of this problem.

this was a problem on the uk version of the altima and if the fan wont kick in it cuts the engine to go to limp mode to stop any major damage to the engine best get a auto spark to check the system to see if the fan is cutting in at the right temperature and make sure the sensor is working as it should
