Nissan Repair: Master cylinder Discs brake&Hybro-vac brake booster, rear disc brakes, drum brakes

Question
Dear Mr Calvin,

I own Nissan Patrol wagon 4x4, 1991 Model Y60/TD32, Diesel, left hand drive.

Originally the car has FRONT Disc brake & REAR Drum brake, I now change to FRONT & REAR Disc brakes. My queries are below:

1. Can I use the old Master cylinder & Hybro-vac brake booster for 4 wheels front&Rear brake Dics?
2. If not, please advice where would I find second hand/new Mater cylinder for 4 wheels Disc brakes and the Hybro vac(brake booster).
3. Any additional suggestions are highly appreciated.

Many thanks and best regards
Kou (Lao PDR)

Answer
Hi Lou
I know that disc brakes require a larger reservoir than drum brakes. So to answer your question it is not recommended to use the same master. I do not know what your options are as far as replacement as you will need to match the proportioning valve, as that has to be replaced too.
I would suggest you go to www.2carpros.com and ask them if these parts are available.

Hope this helps
