Nissan Repair: car air conditioning repair, car air conditioning, freon leak

My cars AC is blowing but barley.  I was hoping it would be a cheap fix like the freon.  I also was told it could be the compressor.  I can afford the freon but not the compressor.  If I take it to a shop just to look at it's 20 bucks and if I do that I cannot do the freon if that is the issue.

Hi Kylee -

Are you saying that the air coming out of your vent is cold, but it is weak? If so, it might be a failing fan motor (located passenger side under dash). Very inexpensive compared to of you had a freon leak.

Also check to see, when the A/C is on, fan on high, if the air is coming out of other places such as the defrost vent or floor vent. One of the diverter doors could be stuck and that could be why you are losing air through the main vent.
