Nissan Repair: Nissan wont start, nissan pathfinder, spark plug wire

Question
QUESTION: My 04 Nissan pathfinder has been sitting up for about a year. I started it every couple of months and let it run. Now it will not start at all. The battery is fine but has the same gas in it. Do you have any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

ANSWER: Hi Vicki -

Have you tried priming the intake with fresh fuel and see if it starts?

QUESTION: Tried that and it still won't start. Is there an ignition control module on theses pathfinders and is so where is it located?

Answer
Hi Vicki -

Remove a spark plug wire and insert a screwdriver inside the boot until it wedges against the terminal inside. Hold the shaft of the screwdriver 1/4" away from any metal surface of the engine. Have a helper try to start the car. There should be a spark jumping between the 2 surfaces.

If not, then yes, could be the ignition module, which is located in the distributor.

Hope this helps -
