Questionhello bill my car engine cuts out when i start the motor revs drop right down, most of the time, sometimes revs go back up to normal to, same thing happens comming to a stop after driving ,motor runs well when driving along though timing is set right ,car is a 91 nissan n13 1.8 and the please can you help thanks
AnswerA number of reasons can cause that. If the car has an automatic transmission, it could bet that the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) is locked. Another reason is a vacuum leak. A vacuum leak will cause the motor to die when it's on idle. If that's a carbureted engine, it could be a bad adjustment or the choke does not open. If it's fuel injected, it could be a problem with the ECU. First check for vacuum leaks and then let me know.
