Nissan Repair: strange electrical happenings, temp guage, electrical problem

Dear Calvin.
Help!
I have a 1998 nissan Micra. the electrics are being funny.
This started with a flashing air bag light which was rectified with the pushing the door jam button 7 times trick.
fabulous!
now the radio does not work, the fuel, speedo and temp guage do not work, the heaters, windows, indicators work but the car will not lock.
I have followed your advice to Laura on her electrical problem all the fuses are fine as are the wires near the battery. my local garage can find nothing wrong either.
any ideas?

Hi Kim -

We do not have Micras here, but I will do my best as i think they are similar to some local models here.

Have you checked the large circuit fuses/relays. They are located in a box that sits on the fender well in the engine compartment. The relays can be checked by a knowledgeable mechanic. The schematic should be printed right on the relay housing.
