Nissan Repair: reverse gear, nissan mistral, transmission overhaul

i have an automatic nissan mistral and it will only go into reverse gear when the engine is cold could you please advise on what could be the problem

Hi Sharon -

Assuming that the fluid level is OK, looks like you will need a transmission overhaul.

In the past I have used an additive called AT205 and it has resolved the problem. They sell it at Carquest here, I do not know if it is available where you are, but it really works, saves you a lot of money if you do not have to overhaul.
