Nissan Repair: car trouble puzzle, nissan altima, azusa ca

I have a 97 nissan altima just a day ago it began to do something really strange. I was entering the freeway about to pick up speed (i was entering the on ramp @25mph) when outta no where my car began to shake a little and i also noticed that the cars power went off for a few seconds as the car was shaking the car turned off the lights and what not were still on.....that was day 1 the next day i had. It checked i was told it was just the oil was low and it was a close call as i would've damaged the motor ,however later that sameday i was drving and once again i was at the light and stepped on the gas and the car had a hard time picking up speed again it idled and shook a little and once again the car turned off... the thing that stumps me the most is that the car at times is fine and presents none of these issues and the car starts fine and all,but as soon. As i have more than a few miles driving it,it begins to do the same thing over i am honestly puzzled some ppl tell me its a sensor others tell me ta the transmission ..can u please tell me what t is... Hi Jessy -

After the car dies off, can it be started right away? Or do you have to wait a few minutes?
When was the last time you had tuned up the car? Does it act the same when trying to go up a hill rather than accelerating? What about when you try to press the accelerator pedal when in park? Does it run rough when the engine speeds up?

The problem could be anything from needing a tune up to the fuel pump, depending on the answers to these questions.
