Nissan Repair: 2007 nissan hardbody elecrical problem, nissan hardbody, gauge wire

I own a 2007 nissan hardbody 3.0 vq30.the wiring has melted the insolation from the stoplight switch through the haness under the dashboard.what might cause this??the fuse did not blow and the rest of the harness is still fine.thanks for you're support,stoffel.

Hi Stoffel -

There must be an area of high resistance between the harness and switch. That part will have to be re-wired, perhaps using a lower gauge wire. Ensure that the switch grommet is intact as well. This is where the stoplight switch contacts the pedal. Should have a round rubber piece there.
