Nissan Repair: 2002 Nissan Quest, blower motor resistor, nissan quest

Question
The blower motor in my 2002 Nissan Quest runs only on the high speed. I changed the blower motor resistor, however I did not mount the part in its position. The blower motor resistor allowed settings low, medium, high to work, but had burned out in few miles. Why did this happen? Should I have mounted the resistor for it properly function or does that not matter? And do you have any other suggestions in trying to fix this issue?

Answer
Hello -

I would check a couple things -

Ensure that was the right resistor for your model car. Because it did not match up to the mount, it tells me that probably was not the right one for the car, therefore may have different amperage settings.

If it is the right resistor, check the amps on the motor against the label on the motor. If it is over amp, then it will burn the resistor out.

Hope this helps -
