Nissan Repair: 1997 Nissan Altima, nissan altima, pivot bolt

Question
How can I remove the drive belts and replace the idler pulley's on this car.  At first look I cannot see any way to get my hands on the upper of the idler pulley.  It sounds like a noise is coming from the upper Idler pulley bearing especially after the car has been driven for for a while.

Answer
Hi Kermit -

The bolt to loosen the idler pulley should be right on the assembly, the pivot bolt and adjustment should be one and the same. Depending on what size engine you have, the nut to loosen is in the front or back. I think it is a 17mm. You are correct, access is sometimes a challenge. However once you get the idler loosened, you can then remove the belt.

Hope this helps -
