Nissan Repair: brake problem, brake calipers, rainy weather

Question
I have a 99 Nissan Altium.  It does not have anti-lock brakes.   When you have to hit the brakes hard, they lock up and you slide for about 3/4 of a car length or further.
It is realy bad in rainy weather. A deer ran out in front of me and i slide all the way across the road to the other side before i could get control of the car.  What can I do to repair this problem.

Answer
Hi Charlotte -

I would check 2 things -

First the brake calipers. They might be locking on panic stops. Is the car swaying to one side while it is locked?

Secondly the proportioning valve. This valve distributes the brake fluid pressure evenly on all 4 wheels so you do not fishtail when stopping suddenly.

Try this and let me know -
