Nissan Repair: timing chaim on a 1998 Nissan 4 cyl truck, drive belts, center bottom

I know in the fornt engine area but can you tell me exactly where the timing chain/belt is located?

Hi Jim -

I think your truck has a timing belt, not chain - need to verify engine size and model.

Anyhow, same location. Front of the engine, behind the drive belts and pulleys. There should be a plastic timing cover, remove that and it is right there, although you will need to remove several things to get to it, including the harmonic balancer front center bottom of the engine.

Once you get to the belt good idea to replace water pump too.
