Von, Have a 96 pickup 2.4 (automatic) got a intermittent VSS code replaced VSS still get C.E.L.

If the VSS has been replaced and you still get the code check the wiring at the VSS and if it is good then you are looking at a speedometer replacement.  The VSS sends the square wave to the cluster and the computer picks it up at the speedometer.  If the speedometer is defective it will throw the code too.
