Nissan Repair: 93 nissan sentra, nissan sentra, auto parts store

Question
QUESTION: my a/c stopped blowing , i also tried the heat and it will not work. it isn't blowing at all. at first it would blow and quit then it just quit blowing at all. what could be the problem? i think it could be the blower motor gone bad.

ANSWER: Hi Angie -

Yes, it could be the motor, however could be the resistor too. If you have a circuit tester 12V light type, that would be good.
With ignition on, fan on, check the power to the two wires. One of them should have power. If not, then replace the resistor. If there is power, then replace the motor.

QUESTION: Thanks for the info in such a speedy time, so now where do i locate the resistor and motor to check and replace what needs replacing ? you have been great help

Answer
Hi Angie -

The motor is located in the car, under or behind the glove box. There should be one connector with 2 wires that bring power to the motor. Best way to check it is with a probe type 12v light tester. One can be purchased at any auto parts store for only a few dollars.

The resistor normally is on the firewall in the engine compartment passenger side, and is usually near the A/C duct. There is also one connector with 2 or 3 wires attached.
