Nissan Repair: nissan serena 1996 heating problems, manual answer, heat heat

QUESTION: hi i bought a 1996 2.3 gxd and noticed none of the fans are blowing. i mean for heat. heat comes out the front pipes but the fans wont come on when i chance from 1-4 position. i checked the fuses and the seem fine. not sure where relays are though as i have no manual

I hope I am understanding correctly, but try replacing the resistor. It should be located either against the firewall in the engine compartment, near or on the duct, or under dash center of the car inside. Should have 2 wires connected to it.

QUESTION: i did look under the bonnet, right hand side tucked away by the firewall is a black box with relays. there is 1 relay missing from it. maybe its that 1 Air Con Relay?? would this kick the fans in when u move the slider?

Hi Chyanne -

Well, usually there are a couple spaces for relays, and some are intentionally empty. The resistor I am speaking of is by itself, and not amongst other relays.

It should be along the firewall passenger side with 2 wires attached.

If you follow the ductwork you should be able to find it whether it is inside or outside,
