Nissan Repair: help help, nissan pathfinder, knock sensor

have a 1998 nissan pathfinder 3.3 v6 se knock sensor code is replaceing it going to help a over hi rev "redline" when i push in my clutch or am i looking for something else
like crusecontrol

If you have the code for the knock sensor it is just a matter of replacement and then clearing the code.  There is no correlation between revolutions and the knock sensor being defective.  It will cause the engine performance to be down since the computer goes to a pre-programmed limp mode as not to damage the engine with spark knock.  Replacement of the knock sensor will restore the original power after you replace it and clear the code.
