From the front of the engine the #1 cylinder of the engine is the one nearest the front of the truck.  On the distributor, Left wiring is 1-3-4-2 starting at the top and going down as you look at it.  On the right side of the distributor it is exactly opposite, 2-4-3-1 starting at the top as you look at it from the front.
