what would be the life on the motor ,I just bought a maxima with $169000  but now I'm a little concerned about the mileage.

Yes, the mileage is high.  But, if it has been maintained you should be fine.  They are pretty reliable.  It is just a matter of keeping up with things and the car should run a few trouble free years.  Make sure it has had a tune up and review the service records for things that have been done to it to keep it in proper running order.  Email me back if you need more information or for something more specific.
