Nissan Repair: A/C PROBLEM, 2002 nissan exterra, clutch replacement

Question
Hey Calvin, Gary here in Fl. I have a 2002 Nissan Exterra and never have had a problem until now. I crank up my truck and I usually wait until it idles then, I turn on my A/C. It runs a few minutes, then blows hot air. The freon was checked and it was fine. Mechanic replaced the relay with one he had, (not new). I got the truck back and it worked for a day the same thing happen again so I went and bought a new relay. I still have the same problem. Does this sound like I'm headed for compressor/clutch replacement? Tell me what you think

Answer
Hi Gary -

Have you checked the freon level/head pressures? If that checks out, then try this test - Also, when the A/C is on and motor running, does the compressor engage?

If so, do this test - Spray some water generously on the condenser coil in front of your radiator. If the A/C air gets colder, then you probably have blockage in your system.

Let me know how this goes -
