Nissan Repair: Pathfinder 2000 flasher and driver side lock, nissan pathfinder 2000, turn indicator

Question
QUESTION: I have Nissan Pathfinder 2000 and recently it had two
issues. First, the driver side lock doesn't lock/unlock even
when i press the lock/unlock switch on the door, All other
locks work fine.
Second, The turn indicator and well as 4-way stopped
working. they work intermittently and then stops working. it
gets very annoying when i'm driving, they work one moment
and stops working the next. please advice. thanks.

ANSWER: NS,

First replace the door lock motor on the driver's side door.  If the other locks work and the driver's does not that means the lock motor has failed.

The headlight switch is failing and needs to be replaced.

QUESTION: Thanks for your quick reply. I'll check on the door lock
motor.

But regarding the turn indicator, are you sure it is the
headlight switch. I'm asking because when the indicators
stop working then i also try the 4-way hazard and that also
don't work at that time. As soon as one starts working (turn
indicator or 4-way) the other start working too. Pls advice.

Once again many thanks for your reply.

Answer
NS,

The hazard flashers are part of the same unit where it connects and since it has to pass through the headlight switch if it is defective it will cause the problem you describe.  I would check the connections in the column to be sure the connections are tight.  But, that is not usually the case.  Also, if you have a trailer hitch and wiring back to it is damaged that can cause intermittent issues as well.
