Nissan Repair: Nissan Sentra Possibly Throttle Problem Possibly NOT, nissan sentra spec v, valve cover gasket

Question
QUESTION: Hello and thank you so much for the answer in advance.

I bought this 2002 Nissan Sentra Spec V 2.5L 6 speed as I just loved these car since it came out. I bought mine used in 2005, it was in great shape and I worked at the dealership.

Problem started when I first got into an accident with a deer. When I got the car back, the car was great but within the second week Service Light came on and the car didn't respond to the gas pedal. The Auto Body Shop told me that the car came with the problem... Insurance told me to claim to the Auto Body, Auto Body kept telling me the car had previous problem, and it didn't. I couldn't fight it. The gas pedal response was not that frequent, once in a month or 2 months, and all I had to do was turn the key off and on, while driving without even stopping the car, so I didn't think it was a big deal so I didnt worry about it too much. But now its very very often. Sometimes 20-30 times a day... and sometimes I have to just pull over and wait a minute or 2, and it will start responding better again. I bought a throttle body from a junkyard put it in, that worked for few weeks and back to the same problem. My tach died, I replaced that, replaced plugs, valve cover gasket and still nothing. I am not sure what is going on because I was told that the Throttle body from JunkYard was in working fine. Please help me.

QUESTION: Hi Calvin,

Thank you very much for your help. There are three codes,

Thank you

ANSWER: Hi -

Looks like you have a major internal vacuum leak and some emmission issues. The codes mean the following:

Evaporative Emmission Control system gross leak and the Diagnostic Module tank pump too low during switching.

Your car needs to be taken to the dealership to repair, per the codes.

Hope this helps

QUESTION: Hello and thank you again. Does that mean my throttle body is good. And
how much should I be looking to spend?

Answer
I believe so. The TB has its own code, and it is not showing, so it should be fine. As far as the cost of repair, I really do not know. The codes tell you what to check and what is causing the problems. Trouble is, there are multiple codes, and it is hard to tell if they are all related, or caused by several malfunctions.

I am sorry I cannot be of more help, but as the vehicle is not in front of me, it is hard to give a certain figure.

hope this helps
