Nissan Repair: 93 nissan maxima ecu, nissan maxima, phillips head

hey so the screw that is for reseting the ecu on a 93 nissan maxima is that the flathead screw or is it the tiny phillips head screw? and if its the flathead screw it does not max out clockwise it just keeps spinning and spinning. and the lights dont flash at all. thanks in advance

It is the flat screw and if it just spins it has been stripped out.  Pull the computer and disassemble and see if it can be corrected or get another ECU.  The screw has to be turned gently and stop when it stops.  Many have been broken from previous owners.  I find this all the time.
