Nissan Repair: 4wd make clickings sound, water intrusion, frequent basis

hi there,i have Nissan navara 1988 4wd 2.7 diesel.when i engage 4wd hi range,i hear clicking noise from front wheel and it vibrates when it clicks,but in low range 4wd is ok no clicking sound.What would be the problem?

The locking hub or bearing, or combination thereof, needs to be dismantled and inspected.  I would suggest the bearing needs replacement. and teh assembly needs to be repacked with grease.  If you have ever driven in water where it was at axle level this could be the issue.  Water intrusion is the most common problem.  The second issue would be making tight turns on a frequent basis where the wheel was turned all the way over-stressing the assembly.
