Nissan Repair: 1994 nissan 4cyl automatic pick up truck, pick up truck, passenger seat

have 235k on truck. was running fine. flash flooding, water got into cab and i believe it may have got to ecu under passenger seat.  now it wont run right, engine light is on, everything is dry. trying to retreive codes from ecu but it will not respond when i screw it clockwise or counterclockwise. the red led stays on constantly.i ordered a used ecu unit.the engine did get some water, but not up to distributor.

Hi Gary -

I would say that the first step is to replace the ECU if it was under water. The fact that you cannot pull codes tells me that it is shot.

I would also double check that distributor. Safe to replace the cap and rotor.
