Hi Calvin,
My Murano when running on speed breakers produces a sound which i feel is coming inside the dash. It is as if something is banging underneath the dash (if we bang on the dash the same sound is produced). I would appreciate if you could advice what could be the reason for such a large uncomfortable noise. thanks in advance, Raj

Hi Raj -

There is nothing behind the dash that moves like that except the seedometer cable, and I doubt if it is that. There are, however some components that you can check under the vehicle where the dash is, which could make it seem like it is coming from there -

Check the rack mounts, the rubber bushings could be worn
Check the tie rods ends both at the wheel and at the rack
Check transmission and engine mounts
Also check the control arm bushings
