Nissan Repair: nissan sentra, fuel pressure gauge, mass airflow sensors

Question
QUESTION: 2000 sentra 2.0l will start but runs for about 3-5 seconds and dies. it acts like it runs out of fuel before it dies. i have pulled the fuel pump and it appears to be in working order. i cant find anywhere to test the fuel pressure. i have changed the plugs, cap, rotor. apparently there is no fuel filter in this model.i have pulled the injectors and they seem to work. i am no clueless and was wondering what to try next? thank you

ANSWER: Bob,

There is no filter and there is no test port.  You have to get an adapter to get the test port for a fuel pressure gauge.  A parts store will rent of sell one to you.  Are there any codes?  I would check for codes and email them back to me.  Sentra's are known to blow mass airflow sensors and that will prevent an idle and the converters tend to melt shut.

QUESTION: There was Bank 1 too lean, Knock sensor, Random misfire that showed up before we cleared them. After that we cant keep it running to give us another code. Are you refering to the catalytic converter? I belive i have plenty of pressure due to the fact i can not hold my thumb over the return line to the tank. Thanks for your help.

Answer
Bob,

Did you correct the problems like the lean bank one and the knock sensor?  Also, the random misfire leads one to think of sparkplugs or wires.  I do not think fuel pressure is the problem...  Yes, the other thing was the catalytic converter that I was thinking about.
