Nissan Repair: starting fluid test on 96 nissan altima gxe, air control valve, nissan altima

Question
Hey Calvin, you have been giving me great advice for my 96 nissan altima gxe. I primed the intake manifold with starting fluid, first thing in the morning (the first start of the day) like you suggested. It worked great, started with no hesitation. The last question I ask was wether it would be the IAC-intake air control valve, or the AAC-auxiliary air control valve? On the last answer you told me I was right, but I did totally understand what you meant by that, have you done any more research on that ethical to see what system it uses or exactly which one of those parts I need to replace? Thanks for all of your wonderful advice, any other suggestions would be of great help.

Answer
Hi Benjamin -

OK, I am glad. Now we can narrow it down some. I apologize, without the car in front of me, it is hard to determine exactly what system (cold start) you have, but the short story is the engine is not getting primed at the first start in the morning. I have not been able to research yest, as I have a busy show this weekend. I will get back to you. I do not think it is the IAC or AAC. When I said you were right, I meant when you said if the IAC or AAC was defective, it would turn the check engine light on.

I will get back to you -
