Nissan Repair: murano drains battery, fuel pump relay, 2003 nissan murano

Question
My daughter has a 2003 nissan  murano with 60,000 miles on it. It has periods when it won't start do to a drained battery. This hasn't occurred in the warm weather and has just started happening again since it has cooled off. Last winter the battery would drain at random times, maybe twice a week and then not for a month. My husband was wondering if it could be the seat motors or the power locks. The jump pack fires it right up,  it puts out proper voltage to the battery. any pointers would be appreciated, thankyou

Answer
Sheryl,

If the battery is good, replace in the last three years, then you need to be looking at what is draining the battery.  Look for things like the stereo staying on or the remote amplifier if she has a BOSE system.  Other things I have seen is a stuck fuel pump relay.  Other than that you will have to analyze each system.  I have taken fuses out of a given system, like the stereo por fuel pump relay to see if removing that circuit will keep the system from draining.
