Were is the starter located on a 2000 Nissan Maxima?

You do not even have to get under the car.  This one is easy.  Open the hood, remove the airfilter box and hoses and you will see it between the engine and transmission.  Disconnect the battery first and then it is just a matter of unbolting the old one and installing the new one.  There are some cable brackets in the way but it is not much of a problem.
