Nissan Repair: Nissan/Pathfinder won`t start, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow


Question
Ran out of gas,put in two gallons.The engine started,while driving to gas station made my first corner and engine died in the middle of turning!Put four more gallons of gas in,had the truck towed home.Jacked it up to check fuel filter,and turned it over.It started so dropped it down,gave it gas an it died.Replaced the fuel filter,it starts drive around the block sounds fine,turn it off an it won`t start.Raplaced the Mass Air Flow Sensor still won`t start.Help,2000 Nissan Pathfinder/168,000 miles,was running fine till now!

Sounds like you need to replace the fuel pump.

Sometimes when the tank is empty and it gets filled with some gas, it stirs up all the sediment sitting on the bottom of the tank. Sometimes this could be detrimental to the operation of the impeller for the pump, and the pump fails.

I would check the fuel pump first. I am assuming the car is in a no-start situation right now. Try removing the line to the fuel filter and turn on the ignition. Fuel should be shooting out of the line for a few seconds. If not, replacfe the pump.
