can weak battery to the remote not allow the car to start? Unfortunately the key does not seem to fit either

The factory alarm can be disabled by unlocking the car door with the key.  If the key does not fit and the remote does not work to unlock the door you are going to have problems.  It looks like your best bet would be a locksmith.  Replace the remote battery and try again.  If that does not work to disable the alarm you are not going to be able to start the car.  Now, if the car unlocks and the alarm is not going off then you might have other issues.  The key should turn in the ignition.  If not try to tuen it while you wiggle the steering wheel back and forth to unlock the ignition wheel lock.
