Why would the tach, speedometer, all idiot lights except for battery, airbags, seatbelts and brakes stop working?  The cruise control and radio  have also stopped working.  The fuses appear to be ok. Thanks for your help.

These are controlled by switched ignition.  Either the ignition is not springing back to run or the relay that feeds power to these is not working.  This is going to take some electrical diagnosis with a test light and back track through the system.  If you have the car on accessory does the radio work?  If an aftermarket stereo has been installed that could be the problem too.  Nissan uses a floating ground and if the radio is not wored correctly it will blow things too.  But, check for the relay first.
