Nissan Repair: 97 nissan max., car doors, loose connection

we recently had our car repainted,and now the front pass door does not lock, you can secure the doors with the remote but the front pass door will set off the alarm when open, i have removed the panel and checked the rods are all connected and the electric connecters are all connected, when checking this out i would lock and unlock the car doors and you can hear a 'studder'noise? a 'rattle' seems to be coming from the door lock to where it locks the door jam pin????

The only thing i can think of is that there is a loose connection in the solenoid and plunger assembly that locks/inlocks the door. Probably some paint got in the harness or terminal preventing a solid connection.

Have you checked that?
