Nissan Repair: Hood Latch Cable, hood latch, plier

Question
The cable broke and does not pop the hood. Since you can't really fit your hand into the mechanism, how do you get the hood open? My thought is to remove the 3 bolts holding the latch mechanism. Will this work?

I did not get the year and make of your vehicle.

If the cable is broken at the latch, you can pull the cable with a plier behind the handle.

Otherwise it will have to be at the front of the car:
Sometimes you can catch it from underneath the front part of the car with a long screwdriver. Others you can remove the grille and get to it. The main thing is that you get to the cable and can pull it to release the hood.
