Nissan Repair: 1995 Nissan Altima hesitating and stalling, nissan altima, crank sensor

Question
Ok i have a 1995 Nissan Altima 2.4, it will start fine and seem to run fine at low rpms and high rpms when its cold, when the engine warms up it will still seem to do fine at low rpms but hesitate and stall starting at about 2500 and gets worse on up. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap, crank sensor and rotor. It is getting spark but its orange i took the (out) hose off of the fuel filter and it sprayed out HARD, it doesnt have a fitting to check fuel pressure. The exhaust smells like rotten eggs after accelerating hard. It also seems to back fire when hesitating. It seems to run great sometimes though. The check engine light is also NOT on. I have been racking my brain and cant find a solution, any help would be great!!!

Answer
Hi Stephen -

I think you were on the right track in checking the fuel system. Hesitation and stalling at high RPM's under load is indicative of lack of fuel. Have you checked fuel volume and pressure? I would just replace the pump.

Secondly, there is a chance it could be your ignition module, located in the distributor. When the engine gets hot, this often fails, and causes the car to die or stall.

Hope this helps -
