Answer
Hi Lutricia -

Is the engine cranking over when you turn the key, or is it just dead?

If it is turning:

Then pull out a spark plug wire, insert a screwdriver into the boot until it wedges against the terminal inside. Hold the driver shaft about 1/4" away from any metal surface while someone cranks the engine (do not touch any metal surface while doing this). There should be a spark jumping between the metal surfaces. If not, check the ignition module, cap and rotor. If there is a spark and the engine still does not start, check the fuel system (most likely the pump in the tank)

If it is not turning:

Locate the starter (at the end of the positive cable from the battery), and hit it firmly (not hard) with a hammer. This will shake loose carbon build up and sometimes the car will start. If it starts, replace the starter. Turn the headlights on while trying to start the car. If the headlights remain bright, then it is probably the starter. If the headlights go dim, or turn off, then replace the battery.

Hope this helps -
