Nissan Repair: 350z window, keyless entry pad, phillips screwdriver

Question
Randomly my drivers side window in my 2003 350z performance coupe quit working. The passenger side is still working on both door controls so does my power locks. I have also tried rolling it down with the keyless entry pad. It doesn't make any noise when the button is down so i don't think that its off the track and all of my fuses are intact. It worked perfectly right before it quit. Is there any other reason it would not work besides the motor going out?
thanks,
Jeremy

Answer
Jeremy,

The driver's window motor needs to be replaced.  The brushes are of a soft variety and they wear down quickly.  I have a 350Z and have done both windows.  If you checkout courtesyparts.com you can save some money on the cost of the motor.  If you email me at vonsudderth@yahoo.com I will send you the PDF on how to take your door a part to get to the motor.  An easy repair that takes about an hour with a phillips screwdriver, a panel removal tool and a ten millimeter socket with an extension and a handle.  The motor is made in the Phillipines.  I just wish there was someone out there that made replacement brushes for the motor.
