QUESTION: my cars auto transmission has been shifting hard only from first to second then the other day i put it in drive and it took over 5 min to engage then after that it didnt have a problem again until i let it sit overnight again then it did the same thing wouldnt engage in drive for a while but ran fine after i got it it is full of fluid

I would probably change the fluid as a precaution.  Always keep the fluid between add and full on the stick.  Check on a level surface and with the car running, in park, at operating temperature.

QUESTION: ok i changed my filter and it took alot less time to engage into D it did only for about an hour or so then same thing takes over 5 min to get it to engage the filter i pulled out was pretty clean the fluid was kinda dirty looking looked brownish pink

Either the pump is worn or the seals are weak and it takes time for pressure to build.  There is a product called Trans X that works wonders with making a transmission work that has your problem.  A quart can that you replace one of yours with.  Drain out a quart and put in a quart of Trans X and see how it does.  If that does not do the trick you are looking at a transmission rebuild.  But, I have seen many a transmission given an extension on life with Trans X.  And, I do not really use fix it in a can products.  But, I have had good luck with Trans X.
