Nissan Repair: 02 Sentra Spec V tach/starting problems, crank angle sensor, autozone

Question
The other day my car hiccupped slighty at speed, and the tach went dead.  The rest of the car was working fine, but when I attempted to restart the car later it just kept turning and turning and turning.  It eventually started after I attemptd to pop start it, and that's been the story for the last few days: sometimes the tach works for a while, dies, and then the car has a hard time starting back up afterward.  Sometimes everything starts and works fine.  What do you suppose is going on?  I should mention the dealer had the same problem before I bought it (I came to find out), and they had the ECU reprogrammed (or something to that effect) and a new throttle body put on.)  Anything you could tell me would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Jay,

If the tach is going out it could cause the problem you describe.  That is, the computer picks up the RPMS as does the tach.  If the crank angle sensor is defective it could cause the problem.  I would go to Autozone or Checker and get the computer codes read for free.  Email me back what codes they tell you.
