Nissan Repair: Nissan Engine, nissan vanette, crank sensor

Question
I have a Nissan Vanette ( 1999 ) I recently replaced the Cam oil seal and timing belt. I seem to have lost power after the replacement. The engine does not function as before. I was told it could be due to a problem with the crank sensor. Please help

Answer
Irshad,

Sounds like the cam is retarded.  That is, the timing belt is a tooth or two off.  That will cause the reduced power and performance.  Pull the timing cover and get the engine on top dead center.  You are going to need to check to make sure the marks line up.  Then rotate the crank clockwise two turns and check again.  Once everything lines up put it back together and you should be fine.
