Nissan Repair: plug & plug wires replacement, exterra, plug wires

Question
I would like to replace the plugs and plug wires on my 2000 exterra v6 5pd manual trans. I have replaced the distributor and still get a misfire on cyl 6. Can I do this without disassembling the top half of my engine? I bought a book but it only list a 4cyl inline. how can I get to cyl 6 to change it. thanks for your help.

Answer
Mike,

The plugs are easy to get to so it is not really a problem.  Follow the wire back to the plug and be careful when removing the boot.  Blow out any dirt before you pull the plug.  I like to lightly spray lubricant, on the sparkplug before removing the plug. Do not change the plugs when the engine is too hot since you do not want to strip the threads.  I use NGK or Nippondenso plugs that are platinum.  Also, do one plug at a time so the wires do not get mixed up.  After that you should be fine.
