Nissan Repair: What did I break?, nissan sentra, autozone

Question
Hi:
I have a 1995 Nissan Sentra with manual transmission, 1.6L.
I made a mistake when I was driving back home a few days ago. That was: I stopped the car, when it was still in 1st gear, and I let the clutch go.
The car is still running ,but right after the accident, the engine light is on. In addition, the car will shake intensely if the gear doesn't catch up with the speed.(For example: if i don't switch from 2nd to 3rd when it is 15mile/h it will start shaking; 35mile/h on 3rd it starts shaking, switch to 4th it goes away. etc.)

Thank you.

Answer
Jack,

Popping the clutch should not cause a problem.  Now, I would be looking at the basics like the tune of the engine.  Change the plugs, wires PCV and such.  With a fresh tune you need to look at what else could be going on.  1995 should be OBD compliant so go to Autozone or Checker and get them to read the computer codes for free and email me back with those.
