When you go to start the car it does not turn over on the first turn of the key in which it normally does now it takes twice to start  we got a new battery and had the alternator checked no clicking noise when starting just normal starting noise  Thanks

If the engine is turning over it would be fuel or spark.  If you turn the key and there is no noise and the starter is not turning then I would be looking at the starter.  If it cranks and no start you need to check for fuel pressure first and then for spark at the plugs.
