Nissan Repair: 1987 nissan pathfinder, vent lines, nissan pathfinder


Question
when i walk into my garage i get such a strong gas smell..yet there is no gas spillage on the floor anywhere..its coming from the back end..any idea where that smell could be coming from and what i can check or do about it?  because its not leaking i'm stumped..thankyou very much for any info you can give me..i do have a manual as well if you can point me in the right direction..over 400,00 kms on this vehicle and still going strong!!

Hi Mark -

Being that your vehicle is "well seasoned", I would definitely check the fuel lines. In addition to the regular delivery lines, you also have vent lines that could be cracked and releasing fumes. The fuel cap could be defective as well. I think if you were to inspect the fuel related components, especially the vent lines coming from the tank, you will find the culprit.
