ho do i remove the fuel pump out of a 1996 nissan altima

Hi Torrie -

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. On some models, you have an access hatch under the rear seat, or in the trunk, depending on where the fuel tank is located. If there is no panel, then the tank will have to be dropped. After lowering the tank, remove the hoses and wires leading to the pump. Undo the hold down ring using a brass punch, or other non sparking punch. The entire assembly will then come out, fuel pump, sending unit, and float. Replace the pump, and installation ios reverse of removal.
